Our extensive experience in the coffee industry has taught us a lot about our beans and their roots. Conscious of this, we aim to provide more than just great coffee;
There are approximately 12.5 million coffee families worldwide and over 80% are living below the poverty line. We aim to give back to these farmers who provide us with our beloved coffee beans by paying more to farmers.
This isn’t just in the interests of farmers though because, the more we can give back to coffee farmers, the better the quality of beans they will be able to supply. Everyone wins!
The importance of fair-trade coffee
Coffee prices are extremely volatile and this is one of the reasons why coffee farming can be un-sustainable for farmers. There are many reasons for this; droughts, economic barriers but also; large companies holding farms to ransom for cheap prices for the sake of profit margins.
We think it’s important that you are aware of this problem and understand what you’re looking at when you see a bag of coffee priced at £3.00 Because, it’s the farmers who work so hard to grow this plant and it’s these farmers who face the consequences for this.
